Kitchen Timer

Use Kitchen Timer from ChatGPT, Claude or any AI assistant

Ask your assistant to plan dinner, and the timers ring on your phone. Kitchen Timer has a free connector that ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants can use. You don't need an account and there is nothing to sign in to.

Say something like "Plan pasta for 12 minutes and sauce for 8, ready at 7:30". The assistant makes the plan and gives you a link. Open it on the phone you cook with and tap Start once. From then on the alarms ring on your phone, and you can keep asking the assistant to pause, add five minutes, skip ahead, add a dish or cancel.

What your assistant can do

Nothing starts until you tap Start on your phone. Your assistant can only change the meal it made for you. It can't touch anything else on your phone.

Add Kitchen Timer to ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open the Plugins page (chatgpt.com/plugins), select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. On older versions, go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then select Create app.
  2. Name: Kitchen Timer. Server URL: https://kt.tnyforge.com/mcp/open
  3. Authentication: No authentication. Confirm the warning, then create it.
  4. Start a new chat, pick Kitchen Timer, and ask for your meal.

Some work and school accounts don't allow custom connectors. An admin can turn them on.

Add Kitchen Timer to Claude

claude.ai and Claude Desktop: go to Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector. Name it Kitchen Timer, set the URL to https://kt.tnyforge.com/mcp/open, choose No sign in, and select Add. In a chat, select + → Connectors and switch Kitchen Timer on.

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http kitchen-timer https://kt.tnyforge.com/mcp/open

Other assistants and apps

Any assistant that supports MCP connectors (Gemini CLI, Cursor and others) can add https://kt.tnyforge.com/mcp/open as a remote HTTP server with no authentication.

Assistants and scripts that can make web requests can use the REST API instead. The OpenAPI 3.1 spec is at https://kt.tnyforge.com/openapi.json, and it works for custom GPT Actions.

No tools at all? Any assistant can write you a timer link like https://kt.tnyforge.com/t?pasta=12m&sauce=8m&ready=19:30. Open it on your phone to get the timers. Your assistant can't change them afterwards.

Let an assistant manage your whole kitchen

To let an assistant see and change all your timers, presets and saved meals, open Kitchen Timer, tap ⋯ → Link an agent, and follow the steps there. You approve it with a 6-digit code, and you can unlink it at any time. Never paste a password or token into a chat.
